A very wise photographer once said, "If you want to take better photos, point your camera at better things." Having Maranda Thomas as my subject for not one, but two full shoots, demonstrates exactly that.
Not only is she one of the most beautiful, talented, young musical artists I've ever worked with, she's also one of the sweetest!
The first shoot took place in Toronto's Distillery District back in November. It was the perfect setting for our vintage inspired shoot, despite it being very busy and Maranda getting lots of looks from passers by.
For the second shoot we booked The Great Hall, but unfortunately, the hydro had gone off that morning. It was -10 outside. By the end of it Maranda's teeth were chattering and she was shaking all over, but it was worth it. Such dedication!
I used my 70-200 lens for most of the shots. We were blessed with lots of natural light for both shoots, but I brought out my SB700 flash for a bit of assistance and creative illumination effect.
I couldn't be happier with the way the way it all turned out!
